Cake Tin
Vintage Ribbon
In less than a week we are leaving for Orlando, FL to take the kids to Disney World! My question is: Has anyone been to any of the Flea Markets there? If so, which one is the best? Also, are there any good thrift stores? I looked up and found Flea World, but not sure how well any of these are....so any help is appreciated! Also, I wanted to give a big Thank you to each and every one of you! A Thank you for visiting here and for leaving such sweet comments! You girls really make the whole blogging thing worth while! I have learned and discovered so much...it's amazing!

That cake tin is too cute :)
ReplyDeleteFlea World has always been our go-to spot. It has been a while since I was there tho :( so I cannot give much advice past that. This summer we took a drive out to Webster (abt 90min drive west of Orlando) for their Flea Market. What an experience! Some booths were really shady looking but the antique & collectables section seemed pretty good. I would guess Flea World would be the same. Have a fabulous trip!!
ReplyDeleteSorry, I can't help...I am too far from you. But what a ball you will have!
ReplyDeleteHi,,, I am sorry, I dont know much about FL, but I love the buttons and the cake box in this post. Just gorgeous! Have a wonderful trip and I hope you find lots of places to treasure hunt!

Hey! Can I go with you to Orlando? LOL All of my family is there - I'm green with envy in Texas!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay - Flea World is a good one, but skip all of the indoor part...it's all massed produce stuff - with just a FEW high priced dealers sprinkled in! Head to the back where the good stuff is!!!
As for Thrift Stores - it has been awhile since I got to go junkin' in town, but there is a fantastic Salvation Army on Colonial Drive (50) - coming from Disney towards Orlando take a left, then it's down on your right a couple of miles! And the Goodwills there I have had good luck in, just dig a little for the not-so-pricey goodies!!!
In the meantime - LOVE LOVE LOVE the vintage ribbon rolls! *sigh/drool*
Enjoy your trip!!!
:-) Robelyn

Hi Daisy,
ReplyDeleteYou have to check out Mount Dora. It's not that far from Disney. Renniger's is at 20651 US Hwy 441.
They have an indoor and outdoor antique and flea market. I know they are open on Fri-Sun. It's worth the trip. You can ride into Mount Dora itself and find lots of little shops and tea rooms. Google it and you'll see what I mean. It's about an 45 minute trip from where we live. I know it's closer from Disney than here in Lake Alfred. The beauty is you can see the real Florida. Our lakes are just as wonderful as the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic. Florida has so many climates and scenic wonders to offer. And no, I don't work for the tourism industry! Don't forget...Mount Dora!!! You won't regret it!
Hugs!
Sue
omgosh the pink cake tin is DARLING!!
ReplyDelete{side note} i totally don't know you...but stumbled and LOVE this blog.
ReplyDeletejust moved up from orlando and i LOVED Renningers Market (352.383.3141)...a little hike (40 minutes or so) but oh so worth it. of course there is some shady stuff but the outdoor "junk areas" (make sure you check out the antique section) are choke full of fun treasures to recreate with. good luck!
