~Sweet Life~

I've been thinking about my life and the road I am going down. I want a new path......but my thing is- I don't know what to do with myself. Or shall I write how to get were I want to be! This is when I came across the quote from Steve Jobs...the most brilliant man I can think of! I love this quote because it's so true! I want...need.....crave something to do with my career life! I am reaching a milestone of 30 this year (I know what you might be thinking- Oh that's nothing) but seriously.... I wish to do event planning but need the experience.....I haven't had luck yet finding anyone who would take me on to shadow them to gain experience but maybe someday. OK enough of the Pity party.....sometimes it just helps to write it out and get others perceptive!
Hope you enjoy the photos I came across on Pinterst...my addiction!

  3. Here's the deal girl...stop waiting for someone to take you by the hand. Go out and just do it! Start small. Do a friends party for free...you won't feel the pressure if you're not getting paid and everyone will be so happy. Then when you get compliments on your work tell people you're going into the business and that's how you do it...by just DOING. Step off that ledge my friend!

  6. I am feeling just like you. Funny that you posted this because last night i made a list of all the things I want to be when i grow up. Just turned 41. My 4 kids are all in school and busy with their sports and other activities and I have so much I want to do and don't do it. What am I afraid of? Too bad we can't go into business together. I love your style and have followed your blog for over a yr. I have my own little business(Waterlily Home)I restore and pint furniture and make cakestands and do some art. I love it but I am only doing it for family and friends. Just go for it. I would love to do event planning too. I love to cook! I'd love to cater! But how do I start and not invest too much money? Yikes! sorry so long! The bottom line- you are talented. Just go for it!!!

  8. Your sincerity is wonderful. I have been following your blog for a while now, and it looks like you have a passion and real talent for design and event planning. Go for it! In my professional life, I am a director of events, and yes, there have been many times that people wanting experience in the event industry have contacted me and I have had to decline. HOWEVER, there are also the people who were persistent and continued to show me that they were worth the time and energy. They were given the opportunity and most of those persistent people are now event coordinators and managers. So stick with it and don’t let anyone stop you. You definitely have a gift worth sharing.
