Over the last 2 years or so, I have been trying to live a more Chemical and Toxic- free life. Although, I know this I can't completely do-able there are ways to help reduce the risk.
I've started with trying to eat more healthy, making my own laundry detergent, shampoo, buying natural make-up and one of my favorites is a face cream recipe I am going to share with you!
The ingredients:
2 oz. Raw Shea Butter
1 oz. Hempseed oil
2-3 drops of Vitamin E oil
Melt shea butter in a double broiler over Medium-Low heat until it becomes very soft and just about melted all the way. Remove from heat- Add oils and mix for 5 mins. Put mixture in the freezer for 10 mins. Remove from the freezer and mix for another 5 mins. Repeat freezer and mixing process if necessary.
*Due to being an all natural product with no preservatives it's best to use product up within 2 weeks. You can refrigerate to keep longer (about a month)
This product can also be used in your hair as a treatment or as a skin moisturizer.
For Hair: Use a small amount on dry hair overnight (concentrate more on the ends or if you have dry scalp be sure to massage in good there as well). Shampoo & condition as normal in the morning.
Benefits of Shea Butter: Helps to neutralize free radical damage reducing fine lines and wrinkles, stimulates collagen production and helps fade age spots. Can also be used to heal sunburns, scars, cracked skin or to soothe skin allergies such as insect bites or Poison Ivy.
Benefits of Hempseed oil: A non-clogging oil that nourishes, evens skin tone, fades blemishes and increase blood circulation. Prevents moisture loss & pre-mature aging skin producing healthy cell production. Also, helps certain skin conditions such as eczema, acne and psoriasis.
